NSAU_Garrison_Ship

Full Model Name: NSAU Garrison Module Ship

Shields: Very Heavy

Armour: Heavy

Weapons: None

Role: Garrison Expansion Module

Description

The seed of every NSAU base starts with this vessel. Containing the blue prints for a complete [NSAU Stronghold], it’s able to convert itself into one. After which, the space port will proceed to expand as required.

For some reasons, the Garrison Ship has always retained several characteristics which are rather unconventional. First of all, it has a huge radar dish, designed to scan for enemy commanders as well as to increase the sight radius of the vessel itself.

Secondly, it has unusually thick shields, making it one of the most well-shielded craft in the entire NSAU navy. One can imagine what role they might play if war does come to NSAU one day.

NSAU Runner

NSAU_Runner

Full Model Name: NSAU Resource Delivery Runner

Shields: Light

Armour: Light

Speed: Fast

Weapons: None

Role: Delivery Craft

Description

Runners are created directly within a [NSAU Mobile Refinery] and will always be under the command of one. Its sole purpose is to deliver refined gas back to the nearest [NSAU Stronghold] to exchange for credits. As they’re small in size, it’s easy for the stronghold to accommodate many at the same time without the need to wait for turns.

Known for its speed, it’s believed that it’ll be difficult, if not impossible to intercept this space craft.

The NSAU focus on harvesting and refining first and thus is handled by the [NSAU Mobile Refinery]. The runners simply facilitate the delivery process, allowing the [NSAU Mobile Refinery] to look for new gas patches independently, without the need to expand bases.

Bacteria Spray

Bacteria_Spray

Full Weapon Name: Bacteria Spray

Damage: Light

Speed: Medium

Range: Medium

After-effects: Bacterial Infestation

Characteristics:

The bacteria spray resembles somewhat like a flame-thrower weapon. However, it’s actually thick with corrosive bacteria which can inflict heavy damage over time.

Fired by the [Slavic Sirerian Liquidator], it’s main purpose is to take down enemy fighters with its sprays.

The Bacteria Spray has a large collision area and can affect many ships at once with its corrosive effect. As such, this weapon is effective even against enemy starships and structures.

However, due to the same large collision area, it’s often blocked by the dead enemy ships hull in front instead, absorbing its damage in the process.

Excerpts from Admiral Vasily Andropov’s diplomatic encyclopaedia:
“Some flies simply don’t deserve our efforts to aim at… “

Bacteria Shot

A variant of Bacteria Spray, it’s the secondary weapon of [Sirerian Pulverizer] and is a scaled down version of the full weapon. However, the shot-variant can be fired fast and wide, allowing the bomber to achieve a frustum bombardment zone.

Damage: Light

Speed: Fast

Range: Short-Medium

After-effects: None

Characteristics:

The Pulverizer fires this weapon like in a scattering manner, spread death and destruction over a large area. It’s deadly towards structures, ships and  fighters who happen to be caught in between the wide arc of fire.

Excerpts from Admiral Vasily Andropov’s diplomatic encyclopaedia:
“Like a spider web, we ensnare our enemies… desperation sets in as the Pulverizer rained death upon them… “

Bacteria Capsule

Written by Jeremy Lee on . Posted in Biological Weapons

Bacteria_Capsule

Full Weapon Name: Bacteria Proximity Capsule

Damage: Light / Splash with Proximity

Speed: Medium

Range: Medium

After-effects: Bacterial Infestation

Characteristics:

The Capsule resembles a 2-edged boomerang that spins as it heads out towards its target. We have reason to believe that the crust on the edges are actually biological proximity sensors. Fired primarily from the [Sirerian Bacteria Turret].

This weapon has a high area of proximity, where it can detonate from a significant distance. Its main weapon however, isn’t a bomb. Rather, it’s a biological device that breaks upon detonation, spreading vacuum-resistant bacteria out towards nearby targets.

Those that are affected will suffer a gradually from bacteria corrosion, where bacteria eats into the hull. Small crafts like fighters are more adverse towards the bacteria and may be destroyed as a result.

Larger starships will probably survive even the most lethal bacteria as its internal core is usually not breached but its main hull will be so heavily damaged, it’ll be close to death.

Smaller variants of capsules have been observed being fired from Sirerian Assault Frigates.

Excerpts from Admiral Vasily Andropov’s diplomatic encyclopaedia:
“This capsule is actually… a living organism. You humans won’t want to know what happens when it decides to blow up.”

Punisher Capsule

Full Weapon Name: Bacteria Spinal Punisher Capsule

Damage: Medium

Speed: Fast

Range: Medium-Long

After-effects: Severe Bacteria Corrosion

Characteristics:

A variant of the bacteria capsule, the Punisher Capsule resembles an ice cream cone, but the contents are a mutated form of bacteria that is extremely effective in corroding the enemy’s hull.

Unlike the proximity capsule, the punisher capsule is a weapon targeted at specific individuals. Unseen by the naked eye, a spine is hidden within the centre of the cone. When it comes into contact with enemy hull, the spine penetrates deep into the target and injects the toxin into the victim, causing the crew to die from within.

Excerpts from Admiral Vasily Andropov’s diplomatic encyclopaedia:
“There’re injections and there’re injections, this is the latter…extremely deadly.”

Plasma Napalm

Written by Jeremy Lee on . Posted in Plasma Weapons

Plasma_Napalm

Full Weapon Name: Plasma Napalm

Damage: Heavy

Speed: Slow

Range: Medium

After-effects: Spot Conflagration

Characteristics:

The Plasma Napalm was first discovered when a [UNC Medium Frigate] took a direct hit from another [Slavic Sirerian Assault Frigate]. The plasma slammed into the starboard hangar, triggering a firestorm from within. The captain had to seal off all access to that hangar; 6 men were lost in the flames.

This weapon, although somewhat similar in appearance as the Plasma Cannon variants, is actually more stable and controllable. Each hit splashes huge amounts of green hot plasma onto the target’s surface, conflagration ensues even in the absence of combustible gas.

Fortunately, it seems that this weapon isn’t fired with a high rate of fire or else our crew would have been cooked alive from within.

Excerpts from Admiral Vasily Andropov’s diplomatic encyclopaedia:
“Even when it’s over for us, it’s not over for them…”

Plasma Cannon

Written by Jeremy Lee on . Posted in Plasma Weapons

Medium_Plasma_Cannon

Full Weapon Name: Medium Plasma Cannon

Damage: Medium

Speed: Medium

Range: Short

After-effects: None

Characteristics:

We’ve observed in our early encounters with the Slavic Sirerians that they were using some form of plasma as their primary weapons to attack our scouts.

Chemical and burn analysis from surviving UNC Scouts revealed that their hull were exposed to severe burns and high temperatures. UNC Scientists concluded that it’s a weaponized form of plasma.

While a direct hit from a plasma weapon will not threaten most of our ships, it’s the heat that is being transferred onto the ship that threatens the crew. There were already reports of crews suffering from 3rd degree burns after Sirerian encounters.

Other Variants

It’s known that a smaller but slightly more unstable variant exists in the Sirerian navy, mounted onto small fighters. The light plasma cannon deals significant damage but is highly unstable due to its variance in speed and firing accuracy.

However, despite so, the plasma weaponry has achieved far more destruction than previously thought possible. Not being bound to the tenets of Foresight, the Sirerians have free rein in their weapon design.

Excerpts from Admiral Vasily Andropov’s diplomatic encyclopaedia:
“Cowards cannot hide behind their armour. Our plasma arsenal will remind our enemies… there’s nowhere to hide.”

Railgun

Written by Jeremy Lee on . Posted in Railguns

Railgun

Full Weapon Name: Full-scale Railgun

Damage: Very Heavy

Speed: Very Fast

Range: Very Long

After-effects: None

Characteristics:

An improved version of the original tactical railgun, this full-scale railgun is the final product of UNC weaponry research and development.

Touted as the perfect weapon, it deals terrifying amounts of damage, travels extremely fast to its target and has a very long range as a result of its initial magnetic propulsion.

Due to its immense power requirements, the firing weapon — [UNC Railgun Turret] is usually built around ships or structures of utmost importance – like the [UNC Democracy].

The Railgun weapon has penetration capability that can pierce through weak targets, destroying them in the process and continuing in its path until it runs out of energy.

Tactical Railgun

Written by Jeremy Lee on . Posted in Railguns

Tactical_Railgun

Full Weapon Name: Tactical Railgun

Damage: Heavy

Speed: Very Fast

Range: Long

After-effects: None

Characteristics:

In the next technological leap, the UNC has managed to develop the magnetic-propelled gun using the mass driver as its ammunition. Electromagnetic charged rails were developed to help direct the projectile and increase its speed as it’s being fired from the turret.

However, due to its inherent instability, the railgun has to be charged whenever it’s to be fired.

The tactical railgun was actually the first prototype variant used for testing. It’s tacitly named tactical so as to sound more precise and focused, keeping it within the tenets of Foresight.

Due to its extreme speed, the railgun projectiles are armour piercing and can deal a lot of damage accurately, even at fast moving fighters. The only solace for the enemy is that they might still have a chance to escape out of the railgun’s range before it’s fully charged for firing.

Mega Particle Driver

Written by Jeremy Lee on . Posted in Particle Driver

Mega_Particle_Driver

Full Weapon Name: Mega Particle Driver

Damage: Heavy

Speed: Very Slow

Range: Long

After-effects: None

Characteristics:

The peak of particle weaponry. The final version of particle driver became more like supporting fire than primary fire.

As a result, it’s mounted only on the [UNC Carrier] as a weapon retrofit to balance the firepower of all UNC ships.

The mega particle driver borders on what is permissible from the tenets of Foresight due to its impact nature. Unlike the rest of particle drivers, this variant disrupts so much matter than it causes the disrupted material to be flung outwards; causing collateral damage to nearby units.

As it’s the nature of the weapon which was approved by the Council of Foresight, the weapon wasn’t banned from the UNC’s arsenal.

Advanced Particle Driver

Written by Jeremy Lee on . Posted in Particle Driver

Advanced_Particle_Driver

Full Weapon Name: Advanced Particle Driver

Damage: Medium-Heavy

Speed: Slow

Range: Medium

After-effects: None

Characteristics:

The second generation of clean weaponry from the UNC. The advanced particle driver is only available on the latest [UNC Destroyer] ships.

The advanced particle driver works the same as the standard particle driver do; but has a higher rate of disruption, therefore causing more damage to the target.

The trajectory of this weapon is extremely stable. It doesn’t suffer from firing inaccuracies or inconsistent speeds like the standard particle driver. This makes damage predictions much more easier for strategists to foresee.
