Fixes made since G-star 2014

Fixes

  • Default View and Speech View in conflict to be visible
  • Added more ways to cancel UNC_Global_Repair_Tool for UNC
  • Multiplayer – client structures do not reflect power-down status properly
  • Fleet AI overrides system behavior and leads to incorrect actions
  • Allowed structures to be grouped
  • Changed the fonts for description in the character panel as well as the objectives/tool tip.
  • Strange case of unexpected continuity in the prologue cutscene when player starts the campaign more than once.
  • Fixed the case where the ESCAPE key inadvertently caused a structure construction to be cancelled when the player wants to go the options menu.
  • Unusually long wait for Victory in Mission 2. Fixed trigger.
  • Fixed a bug where load game/save game/restart game buttons are disabled after a multiplayer game session.
  • Server going into option menu pauses the game – that’s incorrect. All multiplayer option menus are never paused.
  • Fixed a bug when a player change factions, the previous special ability button remains
  • Temporarily disallowed a loaded single battle game to be restarted. A more permanent solution will be implemented later to allow this situation to happen.
  • In a fleet, certain ships’ buttons are no longer included in the balloting process, which can interfere with critical fleet operations
  • Fleets can be selected either by drag and select OR by select one of the ships in the fleet.

Additional Notes:

  • Fleet Commanders will move (if deemed safe) flagship to a more powerful ship if available.
  • Fleet Commanders will evacuate (if deemed necessary) flagship to a more survivable ship if available.
  • Players can only command ships directly as far as 1 sector away. Any further, the ship will be out of player’s command radius. To get around this, either move the player avatar nearer to the ship (within 1 sector) or assign that ship to a fleet instead.Command_Radius
  • UNC ships can be repaired at any UNC shipyards that belongs to you or your allies at a cost borne by you.
  • Repair tool will only work on STRUCTURES.
  • Harvest operations are 100% automated in the current sector. Do not interrupt the operation unless you need the harvester to convert into a UNC Outpost or UNC Command Center.

Role: Command Center / Space Dormitory / Outpost

Hangar Capacity: 8

Description

In order to reduce the number of starships required to protect UNC convoys and recently, [UNC Harvesters], the Council of Foresight has commissioned for a new outpost super structure to be conceived as a stronghold or bastion, capable of defending itself as well as key installations in the area.

The result is an armed variant derived from the [UNC Command Center]. This super structure is self-powered, has heavy weapons and a large hangar; making it one of the most versatile UNC structures ever. On top  of that it holds basic construction blueprints which allows simple base and static defence expansion.

As with command centers, qualified officers frequent Outposts to offer their services as part of their tour of duty. Commander-in-chief s can then select from a pool of talents based on mission requirements to form fleets. Due to its versatility, Voiceless Pirates tend to avoid a direct confrontation in order to minimize losses. However, news has it lately that they’ve actually acquired the blueprints of this very structure and has since built a number of them around their own stronghold. We suspect a spy or sympathizer could be the culprit but so far, no one has been arrested just yet.

 

 

Tactical Nuclear Missile

Damage: Very Heavy

After-effects: Irradiation

Characteristics:

The primary weapon of [Sirerian Decimators], the only way to evade this missile is to take advantage of its slow turn speed.

Targets being hit are subjected to moderate radiation, bleeding away hit points over a period of time. The terrifying fact about this weapon is that it’ll only take a fixed amount of missiles to destroy ANY target. That is, if the target can survive the missile’s initial impact. (See status effects for more information.)

For its extreme destructive power, Sirerian Decimators are often considered as high priority targets; sometimes even above enemy commanders due to their potential threat.

Nuclear Missile

Damage: Extremely Heavy

Speed: Medium-Slow

Range: Very Long

After-effects: Irradiation

Characteristics:

Slavic Sirerian Admiral Vasily Andropov made no mention of such a weapon in his diplomatic archives.

Nothing much is known about this missile other than being a much more powerful variant of its tactical cousin. After a brief encounter with a strange group of Sirerians, UNC Admiral Harris Chen’s fleet was struck with one of these missiles and almost got him killed. His fleet was badly irradiated and had to beat a hasty retreat before a second missile hit. It was the second wave of scout patrol that finally got the technical readout of the missile. No images were sent back; no scouts survived.

Tactical Nuclear Bomblet

Full Weapon Name: Tactical Nuclear Bomblet

Damage: Heavy

Speed: Slow

Range: Short

After-effects: Irradiation

Characteristics:

Known to be the primary weapon of [Sirerian Pulverizers], it has a delayed acceleration mechanism to allow the bomber to escape before it plough into its intended target.

Its fusion chain reaction causes a nuclear explosion that irradiates the target for a period of time. Although the weapon is listed as a heavy damaging weapon, its real power is in the radioactive decay that radiates a certain percentage of hit points away per second.

“These precious little ones start slow, but will mark the enemy and make them glow like the sun….”

Liquidator Missile

After-effects: Bacterial Infestation

Characteristics:

The Liquidator missile is basically hull-eating bacteria guided to your hull.

As the bacteria can survive even in the vacuum of space and multiply by chewing into material such as armoured hull, it’ll continue to damage the vessel being hit for a short period of time.

“These… Liquidator Missiles… they hunt down the traitors within our ranks and ensure that they die a painful death….”

Olympus Mons Missile

Characteristics:

As the [Aeolis Mons Missile] is being deployed onto [NSAU Lens Frigate], there were rumours of an even more powerful missile being designed to specifically deal with heavily shielded starships. However, the NSAU Council of Foresight has vehemently denied such allegations.

Rumours faded with time and this missile project was soon forgotten.

Until one day, when the NSAU Council of Foresight suddenly commenced a project to build an extremely large dreadnought known as the [Vindicator] and that this missile will be fitted into it as its secondary weapon.

Even so, we have no further information on the missile’s capabilities. Rumour has it that it’ll be one of the most powerful missiles ever deployed; its firepower rivalling the much feared nuclear missile.

Aeolis Mons Missile

Characteristics:

The guided missile technology was well-preserved by the NSAU. The Aeolis Mons Missile is in fact, an all-rounded missile capable of striking both fighters and starships with significant damage.

Since technological advancement is forbidden by the NSAU Council of Foresight and its current laser technology isn’t suitable for anti-fighter roles, it was decided that the Aeolis Mons Missile will become the NSAU government’s answer to fast flying space fighters.

This missile is currently known to be the secondary weapon on board [NSAU Lens Frigate].

Dragonbreath Torpedo

Characteristics:

The dragon torpedo was designed as a long-range torpedo fired from the launchers of [UNC Missile Cruisers]. However, due to its limited fuel capacity, the dragon torpedo will only travel as far as their specified range with little extra fuel for additional guidance.

Thus, the dragon torpedo may not be ideal for fast moving targets that are a distance away from the firer.

Unicorn Torpedo

Full Weapon Name: Unicorn MK-V Anti-Ship Torpedo

Damage: Very Heavy

Characteristics:

Designed to be small, it’s the standard payload of [UNC Bombers] torpedo launchers. Its purpose is to deliver maximum damage by pilot guidance while reducing the need for additional torpedo fuel.

This meant that the Unicorn has a short range, but a powerful warhead. Bombers that are well-deployed can launch these torpedoes at their targets with devastating effect.
